Security Specialist (NIPS, HIPS, and SSL Accelerator)

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Security Specialist with 2-4 years of relevant experience in managing and optimizing Network Intrusion Prevention Systems (NIPS), Host Intrusion Prevention Systems (HIPS), and SSL Accelerators. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing, configuring, monitoring, and maintaining these security solutions to protect organizational assets and ensure robust system performance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Intrusion Prevention Systems Management:
2. Deploy, configure, and maintain NIPS and HIPS solutions to safeguard network and host environments.
3. Monitor and analyze alerts generated by NIPS/HIPS to identify potential threats or vulnerabilities.
4. Develop and apply rules, policies, and exceptions to balance security and operational efficiency.
5. SSL Accelerator Administration:
6. Install, configure, and manage SSL Accelerators to optimize SSL/TLS encryption performance.
7. Monitor and troubleshoot SSL Accelerator performance and resolve any integration issues.
8. Ensure up-to-date SSL certificates and manage key rotation in accordance with security best practices.
9. Threat Analysis and Response:
10. Investigate and respond to potential security incidents detected by NIPS, HIPS, and SSL solutions.
11. Collaborate with incident response teams to mitigate risks and document findings.
12. Conduct root cause analysis and recommend measures to prevent recurring issues.
13. System Optimization and Maintenance:
14. Regularly review and update NIPS, HIPS, and SSL Accelerator configurations for optimal performance.
15. Ensure the latest updates, patches, and firmware are applied to security systems.
16. Test new features or upgrades in lab environments before deploying to production.
17. Security Policy Development:
18. Develop and enforce policies for intrusion prevention, encryption standards, and SSL usage.
19. Ensure systems comply with organizational security policies and regulatory requirements.
20. Documentation and Reporting:
21. Maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, policies, and incident response actions.
22. Provide regular reports on security events, system performance, and compliance metrics.
23. Qualifications:
24. Experience:
25. 2-4 years of hands-on experience in NIPS, HIPS, and SSL Accelerator management and security operations.
26. Technical Skills:
27. Strong understanding of network protocols, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint protection.
28. Hands-on experience with NIPS solutions (e.g., Cisco Firepower, Palo Alto Threat Prevention, or equivalent).
29. Familiarity with HIPS tools (e.g., McAfee HIPS, Symantec Endpoint Protection, or Trend Micro).
30. Proficiency in configuring and managing SSL Accelerators (e.g., F5 BIG-IP, Citrix ADC, or equivalent).
31. Knowledge of encryption standards, SSL/TLS protocols, and certificate management.
32. Certifications (Preferred):
33. Vendor-specific certifications (e.g., Cisco Security, F5, or Palo Alto Networks).
34. Soft Skills:
35. Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to identify and mitigate security threats.
36. Good communication and collaboration skills for cross-team coordination.
37. Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
